Cup: Michigan - Race results

18 June 2012

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was in peerless form at the two-mile repaved Michigan International Speedway, leading for almost half the race and successfully riding that domination all the way to victory lane - his first return there in over four years.

It's Earnhardt's 19th win in 450 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. His most recent win prior to this weekend was also at Michigan, almost exactly four years ago - making this the sixth-longest stretch between wins in Cup series history.

Earnhardt beat Tony Stewart by a final margin of 5.393s at the end of 200 laps, while Matt Kenseth came in third place to continue to lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship by 4pts over Earnhardt.
