NASCAR » Cup: Daytona - Race results

Tony Stewart claimed his third victory of the season by taking the chequered flag in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night.
Tony Stewart found his way to victory lane at Daytona International Speedway underneath the floodlights on Saturday evening, to claim his third win of the season and his 47th in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career spanning 482 starts.

It's the fourth time he's won at Daytona in the series, and all of those wins have come in the summer Coke Zero 400 event rather than the season-opening Daytona 500 race.

Sam Hornish Jr. replaced AJ Allmendinger in the #22 after Penske's regular Cup drivers was temporarily suspended over a random drugs test result. Hornish finished in 33rd place, 11 laps off the pace.

A strong third place while his closest rivals in the Sprint Cup championship were struggling meant that Matt Kenseth more than doubled his points lead in the standings, and is now 25pts clear at the top of the table ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Tony Stewart moves up four positions to fifth place while Clint Bowyer drops three places to tenth after getting caught up in the late accident at Daytona.
