Trucks: Iowa - Race results

Polesitter Timothy Peters saw off James Buescher and Ron Hornaday to win the American Ethanol 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Iowa Speedway on Saturday.
Timothy Peters won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race under the floodlights at Iowa Speedway on Saturday night, his fourth win in the series, his third at a short track and his first of 2012. The win increases his points lead over Justin Lofton at the top of the championship standings.

Timothy Peters had claimed pole for the race just an hour with a lap of 23.126s (136.210mph) at the 0.875-mile tri-oval, 0.061 ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr. who was in turn just four thousandths of a second clear of Lofton for the second spot. This was Peters' fifth pole in 127 Truck Series starts and his first of 2012 or at Iowa.

Piquet had edged Lofton for the top time in the Saturday afternoon practice session, his lap of 23.248s (135.496 mph) just 0.079s faster. On Friday, series rookie Dakoda Armstrong had set the pace with a lap of 23.341s (134.956 mph).
