Nationwide: Indianapolis - Race results

Brad Keselowski emerged as the winner of the first-ever Nationwide Series race at Indianapolis, after a late spin for longtime leader Kyle Busch and black flag controversy for Elliott Sadler.
Brad Keselowski was the winner of the first NASCAR Nationwide Series race to be held at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, his 20th win in 183 series starts and his third win in his last six starts in 2012 alone and the 100th NASCAR win for car owner Roger Penske, after a strong run coupled with some bad luck for his main rivals in the final stages of the race

Kyle Busch had led the most laps of the Indiana 250 race before spinning out while battling with Sam Hornish Jr., while Elliott Sadler took the lead at the restart only to get black flagged for jumping the green.

Earlier on Saturday, Kasey Kahne claimed pole position for the first-ever Nationwide Series race at Indianapolis with a lap of 51.054s (176.284mph) on the legendary 2.5-mile oval. It was Kahne's first Nationwide pole in 2012 and his ninth in 186 series starts. Truck Series regular Ty Dillon had started (and also ended up finishing) in third place in only his second Nationwide Series start - the first being at Dover last month - while his brother Austin was the highest-placed of the official Nationwide Series rookies on the starting grid in seventh place.

Kyle Busch had previously topped both the two practice sessions for the Indiana 250, with times of 51.501s (174.754mph) and 51.184s (175.836mph), but he was pipped to the pole position for the race in qualifying by Kahne by 0.071s in the Saturday afternoon qualifying session.
