Nationwide: Bristol - Race results

Joey Logano was the winner of Friday evening's Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway, finishing half a second ahead of Rickey Stenhouse Jr.
Joey Logano clinched his sixth victory of the season and his 15th in 103 Nationwide Series starts by claiming the chequered flag at the end of 250 laps of Bristol Motor Speedway under the floodlights on Friday evening

The race had got underway after a half-hour delay for track drying operations following a thunderstorm that had earlier washed out Sprint Cup qualifying.

Reigning series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. reinforced his reputation as the competition's Mr Consistency, coming home in second place half a second behind Logano for his 17th top ten finish in the 23 races of the 2012 season to date.

Considering her apparent struggles earlier in the day getting to grips with the half mile short oval at Bristol in both Nationwide and Cup equipment, Danica Patrick worked her way up to a strong ninth place in the #7 JR Motorsports car finish by the end of the race.

A late-race collision with Austin Dillon meant that Trevor Bayne finished in 16th place, the last car on the lead lap, despite the #60 having topped the sole practice session on Friday before going on to claim the pole position for the race with a time of 15.833s (121.190mph). It had been Bayne's fifth pole in 85 Nationwide Series starts and his first in eight races at Bristol.

Elliott Sadler continues to lead the Nationwide championship, now by 19pts over Stenhouse. Sam Hornish Jr., Austin Dillon and Justin Algaier also all remain in the running in the top five.
