Cup: New Hampshire - Qualifying times

Jeff Gordon claimed pole position for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, with Kyle Busch also starting the Sylvania 300 from the front row of the grid.
Jeff Gordon claimed his 72nd NASCAR Sprint Cup pole position in 681 starts, with his time of 28.232s (134.911mph) giving him his second pole of 2012 by a margin of just 0.033s.

Kyle Busch will start alongside Gordon on the front row for the Sylvania 300 at the one-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway, with Tony Stewart sharing the second row with Brian Vickers.

Chase contender Denny Hamlin qualified a disappointing 32nd place, apparently after his Joe Gibbs Racing team gave him tyres inflated to the wrong pressure.

Scott Riggs, Jason Leffler and Jeff Green all failed to make the 43-car starting grid, while Josh Wise initially qualified but then had his time disallowed because of a technical infringement relating to a rear shock absorber.
