NASCAR » Daytona Unlimited - Results

Kevin Harvick claimed victory in the first race for Sprint Cup drivers in 2013, narrowly beating Greg Biffle in the Daytona Unlimited exhibition event on Saturday night.
Kevin Harvick won the Daytona Unlimited race on Saturday evening, the third time that the Richard Childress Racing driver has won the exhibition race. Greg Biffle came home in second place ahead of Joey Logano.

Harvick wins $205,075 as a result of the victory, double that of Biffle's take from the event. The race results do not count toward any Sprint Cup championship points, but it was the formal race début of the Generation 6 Cup car that all teams will be using in this year's title battle.

An early multi-car accident eliminated a number of other contenders, including last year's event winner Kyle Busch and his brother Kurt along with Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin.

As a result of a fan vote, the starting positions were set according to the order in which the drivers won the 2012 pole position that made them eligible to compete in the Unlimited, followed by previous champions of the event.
