Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch won the Dollar General 200 Nationwide Series race in dominant fashion at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday afternoon.
Kyle Busch got back into Nationwide Series victory lane for the first time in nearly 18 months, easily seeing off Brad Keselowski and other contenders to the line. It came at one of his favourite venues, Phoenix International Raceway and is his 52nd win in 246 series races, his fifth in 11 races at the one-mile tri-oval.

Starting from pole, Busch dominated the early part of the Dollar General 200, leading 40 laps to the first round of pit stops. A pit lane speeding penalty dropped him back to 23rd place at the restart and Busch's Joe Gibbs Racing team mate Matt Kenseth babysat the lead while Busch took the next 41 laps to saunter his way back to the front. Kevin Harvick was one of the few potential challengers to the JGR cars but a cut tyre put him into the wall at turn 2 at the midpoint of the 200-lap race. Keselowski later led 10 laps by opting to stay out on a fuel conservation strategy when the rest of the field came in for their final stop, but he was no match for Busch's pace in the final run to the flag.

Aric Almirola finished in ninth place standing in for the injured Michael Annett. Ryan Sieg finished in 21st place after replacing regular driver Jeremy Clements, who has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for using "an intolerable and insensitive" racial epithet in a media interview.

Sam Hornish Jr. held on to the championship points lead - now equal with Justin Allgaier - by overcoming two spins during the race, the first as early as lap 2 which started with rear-end contact from Johanna Long.
