2013 Kansas NASCAR: Cup results

Matt Kenseth took his second Cup win of 2013 with victory in the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway ahead of Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson.
The move to Joe Gibbs Racing is clearly suiting and rejuvenating Matt Kenseth, who claimed his second win of the season at Kansas Speedway with victory in the STP 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race having started from pole position.

It's Kenseth's 26th victory in 480 series starts. As well as his second win of 2013 and his second career win for JGR, it's also the second time that he's won at the 1.5-mile speedway.

Kasey Kahne finished 0.151s behind Kenseth, with his Hendrick Motorsport team mate Jimmie Johnson almost four seconds back down the road in third place. That result keeps Johnson in charge of the Cup championship standings, now by 37 points over Kahne.

It was a bad day for Kyle Busch who crashed early in the race, taking out Joey Logano in the process. Busch was classified in 38th place in the results and drops five places in the standings to seventh place leaving Kansas.
