Richard Childress Racing's Kevin Harvick was back in victory lane on Sunday night, at the end of a gruelling Coke-Cola 600 - the longest race on the NASCAR Sprint Cup calendar and which clocked in at just over four and a half hours total running time, plus a lengthy red flag stoppage caused by faulty TV equipment dropping onto the track and damaging several cars.

A decision to pit for fresh tyres at the final pit stop gave Harvick the ultimate edge over longtime race leader Kasey Kahne, who was alone among top drivers to stay out. Kahne ended up 1.490s behind at the line as Harvick celebrated his second win of 2013 and his 21st victory in his 442 Cup race career. It's the second time that Harvick has won at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In the Sprint Cup standings, Jimmie Johnson continues to lead the point standings by 32 points over Carl Edwards despite the #48 being involved in a late race incident that sent him spinning out and finishing five laps off the pace in 22nd place.
