Kentucky: Truck results

Ty Dillon won the Truck Series race in Kentucky on Thursday night, after he managed to out-race two of the best Cup drivers in the business to the line at Kentucky.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series resumed after a three-week hiatus with the UNOH 225 at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway, which saw Ty Dillon deliver victory for Richard Childress Racing in the #3 car after finishing over five seconds clear of Sprint Cup regulars Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch.

"To beat Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski, two of the best drivers on four wheels right now, is pretty special," said Dillon, who played a patient game for much of the 150-lap race. "I want to be like them some day."

It was Dillon's second Truck win in 22 starts and his first of 2013. He's the youngest driver to win in the series at Kentucky at 21 years and 4 months old.

"My car just took off at the end ... It turned into a rocket ship!" enthused Dillon after he clinched the win with a pass on Busch late in the race. "I knew I was faster, so I just really tried not to kill my car, kill my tires, and it finally came to us. I got a good run through 1 and 2 and got by him in 3 and 4."

Unusually for the series, this week's event was held on Thursday evening with Ryan Blaney topping qualifying earlier in the day to claim his first pole in 17 series starts with a lap of 30.829s (175.160mph) to edge Darrell Wallace by 0.015s.

In the championship standings, Matt Crafton's lead over Jeb Burton is trimmed by just a solitary point. The 37-year-old Californian is now 22 points ahead of Burton, while Ty Dillon's race win boosts him up three spots to third place ahead of James Buescher and Johnny Sauter.
