Kentucky: Nationwide results

Rain ended the Feed The Children 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race early on Friday evening in Kentucky, but Brad Keselowski didn't mind at all when it meant he was handed the win.
Rain meant an early end to proceedings at Kentucky Speedway on Friday evening, and when a seven lap caution ended up in a red flag with no chance of resuming it was Brad Keselowski left sitting in the best seat in the house in the #22 car. He was at the head of the field, having passed Elliott Sadler for the lead on lap 156 of what turned out to be the 170- rather than 200-lap Feed The Children 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series event.

“I didn't want it to end this way, but we had a great car,” said Keselowski after being confirmed as the winner, his 22nd victory in 197 series starts and his second of 2013. “This is the type of car you get like once a year, if you're lucky. In driving this car I felt like Jimmie Johnson - this is a rocket!”

Earlier on Friday, Austin Dillon won his eighth pole in 59 series starts with a lap of 30.724s (175.758 mph) on the 1.5-mile superspeedway, putting him alongside Travis Pastrana on the front row of the grid on what was the X-Games star's début race at Kentucky. Dillon led at the start but was overhauled on lap 18 by Kyle Busch who went on to lead for 74 of the first 100 laps of the race, before Keselowski emerged as the strongest man on track for the second half with 59 laps out in front. Busch's hopes of challenging at the end were hit when he slid through his pit stall in the final round of stops under caution for Carl Long's turn 4 spin on lap 141, and Busch was running in fifth when the rain started to fall putting him behind Keselowski, Sadler, Matt Crafton and Brian Vickers.

Suspension problems for Regan Smith left him 18 laps down and saw him classified in 30th position, trimming his lead in the championship standings. He is now just eight points ahead of Sam Hornish Jr. who recovers his second place in Nationwide rankings after finishing in ninth place four spots ahead of Justin Allgaier in 13th.
