New Hampshire: Nationwide results

Critically on fuel, Kyle Busch managed to hold on through three green-white-chequered restarts to claim victory in the Prime The Profit 200 Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch claimed his 58th win in 258 NASCAR Nationwide Series races and his seventh in 2013 alone with victory in the Prime The Profit 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

Busch had earlier claimed his fourth pole of the year and his 30th pole in 258 series races, which ties Mark Martin for the all-time Nationwide pole record. Winning from pole for the fourth time in the same season ties Sam Ard's record for wins from pole in a single season that was set in 1983.

Busch led for the first stint of the race until a poor stop under a debris caution dropped him to seventh place on lap 38. He wasn't able to lead again until lap 107, and shortly afterwards came in for a green flag pit stop on lap 120 that he hoped would give him just enough fuel to make it to the end of the race.

It did, but it was very tight after the race was extended by 13 laps by three attempts at a green-white-chequered finish that were initially triggered by a spin for Chad Hackenbracht which brought out the yellow with two laps remaining in the race. The first GWC ended with a yellow after Landon Cassill ran out of fuel, while the second was aborted after four-wide pinball contact put Paul Menard in the wall and Parker Kligerman into the sodden in-field grass from which he couldn't escape. The third and final GWC saw Elliott Sadler spin after contact with Regan Smith and Mike Bliss also spinning out, but neither incident was serious enough to stop the race early and Busch had just enough left in the tank to cross the line after having led for a grand total of 141 laps.

Brian Vickers improved his Nationwide championship standing by coming in behind his Joe Gibbs Racing team mate in second place with Austin Dillon in second place. Championship leader Regan Smith survived his contact with Sadler to come home in eighth place just behind his nearest rival Sam Hornish Jr. who closes to within five points in the standings.
