The 2018 World Superbike rider entry list has been revealed to confirm the 21-rider grid, with ex-MotoGP contender Yonny Hernandez joining Pedercini Kawasaki next season.

While the majority of the factory World Superbike spots were already confirmed with most riders on multiple-year contracts, it left just three grid spots left to be formally confirmed. As expected Lorenzo Savadori remains at the Milwaukee Aprilia squad for 2018 alongside Eugene Laverty despite having been briefly linked with a potential switch to Grand Prix racing. Leandro Mercado’s move to Orelac Racing VerdNatura Kawasaki has also been confirmed on the 2018 grid, with Hernandez completing the entry list after securing a deal with Pedercini Kawasaki for his WSBK debut.

As expected triple-world champion Jonathan Rea retains his #1 race plate while there are no other major race number changes across the grid. The 2018 WSBK season gets underway at Phillip Island on the 24-25 February which kicks off the 13-round campaign that wraps up in Qatar on the 26-27 October.

Just seeing this full list now... good to see Jonny Hernandez get a fairly competitive ride in WSBK, hopefully he can make up for his poor showing in Moto2.
