Zytek Motorsport has confirmed that it will compete in the remaining two rounds of the American Le Mans series at Petit Le Mans and Laguna Seca.

Zytek Motorsport has confirmed that it will compete in the remaining two rounds of the American Le Mans series at Petit Le Mans and Laguna Seca.

Stefan Johansson and Johnny Mowlem will team up to drive the Zytek 06S on it's return to the ALMS, a series where the team enjoyed great success in 2005, setting poles and lap records and winning the final round at Laguna Seca with Hayanari Shimoda and Tom Chilton.

“This is a new year and there is even stronger competition in the LMP1 class, but I believe we are up for the challenge,” Zytek Motorsports race director Trevor Foster said. “We are pleased to be returning to the ALMS this season to showcase our new Zytek 06S chassis and Zytek's normally aspirated 4.0 litre V8 engine.

“We had a great deal of success in North America last season and our desire is to build on that success and prepare for an all out assault on the ALMS championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007."

The team is currently finalising its commercial programme for this season and for 2007 and will announce the team partners in the near future.
