Reigning double MX3 world champion, Yves Demaria, has switched from KTM to Yamaha for the 2007 season.
"I had some troubles during the final GPs after my injury in the Netherlands, and at the same time KTM informed me that they would not renew my contract. Mentally it was a tough time, but I recovered and got a strong offer from Yamaha. Jean Claude Olivier from Yamaha France, Michele Rinaldi and Yamaha Europe joined forces and offered me a great technical package to fight for a third world title. I will have a 450cc Yamaha boosted by a 480cc Rinaldi kit, and I'm sure that it will be the best bike in the series," claimed the Frenchman, who will also set-up his own team.
"I was disappointed after the Motocross des Nations, but I worked pretty hard to find some support, good material and the budget for the season. I was pleased with the reaction of partners, involved in motorsport or not, and they allowed me to build my own private team. I must say that I have a strong motivation for next season, and as long as I have fun on the bike and am competitive I will continue to race," added Demaria, who is returning to the manufacturer with which he completed his first GP season in 1988.
