A hard fought victory for Adam Nichols in the second Senior TKM 4 Stroke final at Clay Pigeon helped keep him at the head of the points table with just one round of the series remaining.

After only finishing fifth in the first final behind Emyr Honeybun, Miles Murphy, Luke Graver and Michael West, Nichols was faced with a tough task in the second final.

But once the lights turned green at the start of the 20-lap final Nichols focused on picking his rivals off one by one, passing Graver and Honeybun on the same lap to take the lead on lap seven. Over the second half of the race Nichols gradually eked out his advantage tenth after tenth as Graver, Honeybun and West scrapped over second place with West eventually taking the place and finishing one and a half seconds behind the victorious Nichols.

Honeybun completed the podium to conclude one of his best days in the championship this year with Murphy fourth, Graver fifth and Chris Needham recovering from a poor start to take sixth.

With just the final round of the series at Buckmore Park left to run Nichols holds a 45 point lead over Graver in the standings with West and Michael Rich the only others within 100 points of the leader.
