Gwynn secures late Cambrian call

George Gwynn has answered a last minute call to compete this weekend on the Cambrian Rally alongside Welshman Andrew Hockridge.

Gwynn, who has spent the 2007 season sitting alongside young Nick Kenny in the British Rally Championship, has also acted as a stand in co-driver on a number of occasions, most recently for Stuart Jones when they led the Plains Rally outright for a number of stages.

This weekends Cambrian Rally, the final round of the 2007 BTRDA Rally Championship, sees Gwynn team up with Hockridge in a Subaru Impreza N9. Although Hockridge has not competed since the Grizedale Stages in 2006 the pair are looking forward to contesting some of the best stages in North Wales.

“I have never competed on the Cambrian before so when Andrew mentioned he needed a co-driver I jumped at the chance,” Gwynn said. “This could possibly be my last rally of the year as our plans for Wales Rally GB have fallen through.

“I'm aiming to finish 2007 on a high as I now turn my focus towards next year.”
