by Geoff MayesA year on from the toughest rally of his life Wayne Radford returns to Wales Rally GB in his Amberguard Security-backed Mitsubishi Evo 9.
On the 2006 event, Radford had to contend with all sorts of dramas, ranging from a pre-event road accident, caused by a negligent driver coming the other way, through to breaking two wheels in one stage and a host of other minor issues. In the end he was more than pleased to finish the gruelling three-day event.
2007 has been a mixed season for the
www.designplus.co.uk supported Mitsubishi Evo Cup contender as an assortment of mid-season mechanical gremlins ruined his championship hopes.
A recent strong run on the Premier Rally however has renewed Wayne's enthusiasm for the sport and as a result he travels to the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship and the BRC looking forward to tackling some of the most famous stages in the world.
“Last years Wales Rally GB was such a tough event, but we finished without using the SupeRally,” said Radford, who will once again be co-driven by Paul Drew. “To me this is what rallying is all about, overcoming obstacles and soldiering on - and most importantly, having fun!
“I'm really looking forward to this year's event. I'd also like to say a massive thanks to CPP for the use of their car,” he added.
