As you can imagine, since the Pirelli we have been switching the two Subarus and the Suzuki to asphalt spec in preparation for testing and the Jim Clark. It's not far away now. We took a podium finish there last year despite problems with the Toyota S2000R we were competing in. With everything we have learned about the Subarus on the Pirelli, we can't wait to unleash them on the asphalt now.
We've had an asphalt test at Bala for my Subaru and Nick's Suzuki Swift. We spent one day testing and working on different set ups, and collected a lot of data for the future.
Myself and Jon Mills from FX Motor Sports went rallying last weekend too, but it was slightly different for us. Armed with spanners instead of our TQ.com Subaru Imprezas, we went to the RBS International Manx Rally to service for my parents who were competing in their Ford Escort Mk2. Sadly mechanical problems ended their run early, but its great fun having the whole family involved in the sport.
With my daughter Alicia showing signs of promise in a kart, I'll be expecting her to service for me when I'm older and she's the Higgins in the BRC!
