Confidence boosting result for Wozencroft

James Wozencroft bounced back from his big accident on the Ulster to take yet another very solid result for the Revolution Wheels Rally Team on the International Rally Yorkshire last weekend.

Wozencroft and co-driver Chris Ridge contested the event, the fifth round in the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, in a car kindly loaned to them by rally preparation expert Geoff Jones.

Despite a cautious start the British Rally Elite man soon found his confidence and set a run of top six times. He eventually finished provisionally sixth overall and fourth in the BRC, following Guy Wilks' exclusion. It was his third top-four result of the season - and the fourth time he has put his Subaru in the points.

"Considering this is only my third ever gravel rally in a 4wd I'm very pleased," said Wozie. "I drove like my gran on the opening stage, but apart from that I'm really happy with the day."

Rob Swann meanwhile also had a good run in the other Revolution entry and finished inside the top ten, two spots further down.

Swann, who was making his debut on gravel in his Subaru Impreza N14, ran consistently inside the top ten all day long and he and co-driver Darren Garrod returned to the finish full of smiles.

"This is the first rally in the N14 on gravel and I'm very pleased with how it went," Swann added. "The tyres were not up to the task in the afternoon so I backed off to avoid any heroics. But apart from that I'm really happy with the day and with the overall result."

Revolution Wheels team boss Warren McKiernan was also very pleased with proceedings and the team's provisional 4-6 finish in the BRC.

"I'm really pleased to get both cars home in such strong positions. Rob has made a big step forward on gravel and it's good to see the new car going so well. It's also good to see James get his confidence back after Ulster. Once again Geoff Jones Motorsport provided us with two excellent cars, and thanks again to Competition Car Insurance for their continued support," he summed-up.
