No, not yet. I have promised him a couple of years of support - and that is supporting him financially and in terms of my time too. But at the end of the day he will have to stand on his own two feet and he seems to have done that this year I feel. He had quite a bad accident on the Pirelli Rally, at the beginning of the championship. But since then he seems to have got it together. He has learned a lot. He has been reliable all season, apart from the Pirelli and he picked up third in the championship, which is certainly far higher than we expected at the start of the season. He has got all that mileage under his belt and now Hankook have come in to help support him so he can do Rally GB. That is another three massive days of experience. Hopefully that will bring him up another level for next year.

Is experience the main thing he needs to get out of Rally GB or have you set him some other targets?

GE:
No, experience mainly and mileage, plus getting use to his own pace-notes, different terrains and different conditions. Just pure experience and mileage under his belt and hopefully for the sponsors and everyone involved, he will do a good job and get the car to the end.

What are your plans for next year? There has been talk that you might hang up your helmet...

GE:
It might be the case but at the end of the day whatever money I will spend in the sport I will spend supporting my son. That makes it more difficult for me to compete next year. I haven't lost it in my blood and I have still been reasonably competitive. The odd occasional drive here and there wouldn't go amiss.
