Higgins nominated for Hollywood award

British Rally Championship front-runner Mark Higgins has been nominated for a leading Hollywood award for his stunt work on the latest James Bond film - A Quantum of Solace.

The Pirelli TEG Sport driver was one of a number of racing drivers to have an involvement in the film and will now hope to pick up the award for 'Best work with a vechicle' when he travels to Hollywood to attend the Taurus World Stunt Awards.

“It's a huge honour,” he wrote in his personal blog. “I've done quite a bit of filming before, but Quantum of Solace was my first major film. To be recognised for driving the Alfa Romeo in what has become quite a famous car chase scene in the film is fantastic.

“I would like to do more film work in the future, so having my driving recognised by the stunt co-ordinator on the film, Gary Powell, and the committee of the Taurus Awards is a real boost for the future.”

After his trip to Hollywood, Higgins will return to rallying action with the Jim Clark Rally.
