Brothers-in-law re-unite for mid season fun

Brothers-in-law Neville and Julian Jones will join forces in Neville's Vulcan Fasteners backed Subaru Impreza N12 for this weekends Welshpool based Lico Plains Rally, as Julian swaps seats for 'a bit of fun'.

Julian, who is the reigning Cotswolds Motor Sport Group Rally Champion, is making a rare foray into co-driving and the pair insists that the weekend is all about having fun. However the last time that Julian co-drove for Neville, on the Red Kite Stages in January, they finished inside the top five in class so you can be sure that there will still be a competitive element this weekend.

“Julian and I have such a laugh in the car, but once the lights go green for the stage start, he knuckles down and gets on with the job,” Neville said. “I'm really looking forward to the weekend, I enjoy the Plains Rally a lot, even if I haven't always had the best of luck, but the Welsh stages are, in my opinion, the best in the country!”

The Lico Plains Rally starts from Welshpool on Saturday morning. A short 'spectator' stage takes place at the wood yard of Mick Jones just outside of Welshpool shortly afterwards. From there the competitors head to some of the best forests in Wales for a further seven action packed stages. The final stage of the rally is back at the wood yard before the crews head to the ceremonial finish at around 5pm.
