Hockridge buoyed by strong tarmac test

Andrew Hockridge heads to the International Rally Isle of Man this weekend in confident spirits following a successful recent test across the Irish Sea when he finished a strong second in class on the Ravens Rock Rally.

Hockridge was across in Ireland using the event to gain more mileage in his Signature Cheese-backed Citroen C2R2 Max, and was pleased to find more pace in both himself and his car.

Part of this improvement was down to some set up changes but it was also because he was using his own pace-notes for the first time.

“I have always modified the organiser's notes in the past but felt that I lacked confidence in them in the fast stuff and so wrote my own notes on Ravens Rock,” he explained.

“This worked really well and with faith in your notes being critical on the Isle of Man, I'm confident that we'll have a good run this weekend.”

Hockridge and co-driver Rich Mills have a good record on the Isle of Man and finished second in class in 2008. They also dominated their category when they visited the island for the non-championship Manx National earlier this year.
