The last S1 before group B was completely mental, plenty of footage of it at full chat on the 1000 lakes and other rally's on youtube.

Have a look....when rally cars were truly scary....and entertaining !

Good to see Audi celebrating their Rallying heritage. Always get the feeling they don't wish to be reminded of it - have read that they rate their Le Mans success as their greatest Motorsport achievements!!

I know what you mean but they had an S1 Quattro in the Audi dealership in Glasgow a few years back for a while.

Salesman looked miffed when he asked which car was I interested in and I said..."the old rally car in the corner" and walked over for a look :)

Respect where respect is due they were amazing at the time. (Even if they did have all that weigh up front)

I saw one of the last an 88 red F plate take a girl (she was hot as well lol) to school for 5 years crawl along at 25mph driven by her mum. Ironic cos I knew it was capable of so so much more and would have loved to have seen it opened up !
