F1 » Eighth 'as good as we could expect' - McLaren

McLaren left it late in Q2 but managed to sneak Jenson Button into the final round of qualifying in the final seconds of Q2, but the team admitted that eighth was as good as they could realistically hope for.

Mclaren don't really seem to have made any progress with there car, it's still a second and a half away from poll and I'd guess it will start to slip backwards as they concentrate on next years car. It's all very well saying that you want Alonso back but is he really going to come back to a team with such a poor car after several years in an average Ferrari, I would have thought not. Button is not the best but they are lucky to have someone mature enough to put up with the poor car they have produced, we can all imiagine what Hamilton or indeed Alonso might be sayhing about the heap they have produced this season.
