MREC: Evo calendar to include extra event in 2009

The organisers of the Mitsubishi Ralliart Evo Challenge have confirmed the schedule for 2009, as the championship gears up for its ninth consecutive season.

The one-make series for homologated Group N Lancer Evolutions will follow a similar format to previous years, although this season there will be an extra round, taking the total to eight.

The calendar includes six loose and two asphalt surface rallies with competitors nominating seven events and then counting their best six scores.

Seven of the eight events are part of the Pirelli MSA Gravel Rally Championship, while two are MSA British Rally Championship events, namely the Ulster Rally and Rally Yorkshire - the latter incidentally has dual status.

The calendar for 2009 is as follows:

2009 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evo Challenge calendar:

February 27-28 Rallye Sunseeker
March 21 Border Counties
April 18 Pirelli Tour of Cumbria
May 8-9 RBSI Manx National Rally
May 30 Severn Valley National
July 18 Swansea Bay Rally
August 21-22 Ulster Rally*
September 26 Rally Yorkshire#

* All events are apart of the Pirelli MSA Gravel Rally Championship with the exception of the Ulster Rally, which is part of the MSA British Rally Championship.

# Rally Yorkshire has dual status and counts as part of the GRC and the BRC.
