Mike Harris has reason to be grinning ahead of this weekends Rallye Sunseeker, after having landed backing for the event from underground music and party promoters Grin Recordings.
Harris, a former frontrunner in the British Rally Championship 'stars of the future' category is returning to Bournemouth for the third time, and after having twice contested the event in a front wheel drive Peugeot (with a best finish of third in class in the fiercely competitive super cup) Harris will be armed with a Yokohama shod Subaru Impreza for this weekends rally.
“I'm really looking forward to returning to Bournemouth this weekend, and I am grateful to Grin Recordings for coming on board,” he said. “They have a lot of enthusiasm for the sport and together we are hoping to bring back some of the after rally craic that has been missing recently. Fingers crossed if all goes well this could be a long term partnership, as they have some great ideas for the future.
Harris will be supported by the MH Motorsport team once again this weekend. Team principle Mick Harris is keen for a decent finish and is hoping that the Yokohama shod Subaru can mix it with the top contenders in the Pirelli backed Gravel Championship.
For this years Rallye Sunseeker, Harris will be joined by Dan Mayo in the Grin Recordings Subaru Impreza. The two day rally begins on Friday evening with a pair of stages right in the heart of Bournemouth, and then continues on Saturday with visits to the stately Somerely House and surrounding forests in the Ringwood Area.by Geoff Mayes
