The Revolution Wheels Rally Team is ready to kick start its 2009 MSA British Rally Championship campaign on this weekends Pirelli International Rally after a series of setbacks hampered their recent outing on the opening round of the championship.

The two car team had hoped for a strong showing on the Bulldog International Rally of North Wales but when electrical gremlins forced Rob Swann and Darren Garrod to retire their Subaru Impreza N14 it was left to series newcomer Euan Thorburn and co-driver Claire Mole in their Subaru Impreza N12 to fly the Revolution Wheels Rally Team flag.

Thorburn had showed some promising pace early on in the rally, running well inside the top five overall, until he slid off the road and was unable to continue.

Rob Swann switches to a Geoff Jones Motorsport built Subaru N12 for this weekends rally as his regular N14 heads off to Barbados for the summer. Swann will only get he chance to test his new car for the first time at the official shakedown on Thursday.

Likewise team-mate Thorburn will not have an opportunity to test his rebuilt car until the same test session the day before the rally.

"The Pirelli International Rally in 2008 was my first event as a team principal and hopefully the lessons learnt in the last twelve months will helps us recover from the setbacks of the Bulldog Rally quicker and enable us to get on with the task a hand," team boss Warren McKiernan said.

"I have full confidence in both Rob and Euan and am looking forward to getting our championship assault back on track this weekend."
