Welshman Andrew Hockridge heads off to this weekends Manx Telecom National Rally confident of a good run following a successful pre event test last weekend when he put some mileage on his Signature Cheese backed Citroen C2R2 Max.

Hockridge has experienced a fraught start to the year after a road accident damaged his brand new C2's suspension and there was a delay receiving the spares from Citroen Sport in France. However that is now all in the past and Hockridge, who finished second overall in the 2008 C2R2cup, heads to the Manx National Rally to gain experience of the car ahead of the next four points scoring rounds, all of which take place on the black stuff.

"Geoff Jones sat with me on a tarmac test last Saturday and after making a couple of setup changes I'm really happy with the new car," he said. "It feels good on tarmac and I'm really looking forward to going over to the Manx now."

The 2009 Manx Telecom National Rally takes place on 8th and 9th of May 2009. Consisting of 14 special stages over the closed public roads of the Isle of Man this rally is one of the toughest tarmac rallying tests in Europe and is a firm favourite with competitors and spectators alike.
