Higgins to make Rallycross debut at Pembrey

Three times British Rally Champion Mark Higgins is to make his Rallycross debut at Pembrey next weekend when he takes part in rounds six and seven of the 2009 televised Fuchs Lubricants Rallycross Open Championship.

Higgins, who currently shares the lead in the BRC following back-to-back wins on the Jim Clark International Rally and the Isle of Man International Rally, will compete in the RX150 category where drivers do battle in identical buggies.

Higgins could also look into further outings in Rallycross in the future.

"It is going to be great to finally experience Rallycross, as it will be different having other cars around me,” he said. “From what I have seen on television, the RX150 category is very competitive with plenty of high quality competition.

"I have always wanted to drive a Supercar and you never know if an opportunity comes up at an event like the Rallycross Superprix. I would like to give it a go."
