Welsh rallying duo Jason Pritchard and Andrew Edwards are well aware that they need a strong result in their FCS Laser Mail, Competition Car Insurance and North Road Garage backed Citroen C2R2 Max on this weekends Todds Leap Ulster Rally in order to keep their championship hopes alive in the 2009 C2R2cup.

After a convincing win on the opening round, the Bulldog International Rally of North Wales, the pair have suffered mixed luck on the following three events and head to the penultimate round of the 2009 C2R2cup second in the standings, a tantalising six points being Martin McCormack.

"2009 has been a great year as far as the battles between Marty and I go, but I need to push from the start this weekend and a little help from Lady Luck would be great," he said. "We have been busy preparing the car and Andrew and I have been working hard on our pacenotes.

"I really enjoy the Irish stages and we had a good run here last year, but when it rains it can get very tricky."

Pritchard is the reigning C2R2cup Champion after winning four rounds in 2008 and recently conducted a full day of testing in preparation for this weekends two day long rally.
