Dave Weston Junior will kick start his 2010 season by debuting his new Subaru Impreza N2010 on Rallye Sunseeker next weekend.
Due to the extreme weather this year, testing to date has proved unsuccessful for the young Scot, with each planned session so far cancelled due to snow and ice.
"After the great times we set on Rally Scotland last year it seems to have been a very long winter," said Junior. "I can't wait to get back onto the stages.
"Rallye Sunseeker is always an extremely competitive event because everyone is back from the winter break with a vengeance and wants to prove how good their car is after a few months off, so it should be a great test for us before we start our planned year of BRC and selected IRC and WRC rounds.
"There are some BRC regulars taking part too, so we'll be able to look at our times against theirs before we get to round one on the Bulldog."
Having passed the winter months working on deals for 2010 and improving his fitness levels by combining time in the gym with time skiing and snowboarding every weekend, Junior also received recognition of his 2009 season from the MSA when he was one of only four rally drivers chosen to become part of Team UK.
"I know how hard myself and the team around me worked last year," said Junior. "But to have that work recognised by the MSA picking me for Team UK has been a real boost.
"I am looking forward to the knowledge their experts will pass on to me during the year and seeing how that will help me raise my game even further in 2010 as I re-enter the BRC and experience more of what the IRC has to offer."
Nineteen-year-old Junior will be co-driven by Ieuan Thomas on Rallye Sunseeker, where the pair are seeded at number 12 in their Ramsport Subaru Impreza N2010.
