Rallying return for Pritchard

The Malcolm Wilson Rally will see John Prictchard return to rallying for the first time in ten years
John Pritchard is all set for his rallying return when the former Skoda Trophy Champion contests the forthcoming Malcolm Wilson Rally, the opening round of the 2010 Fiesta Sporting Trophy, at the wheel of his recently acquired Ford Fiesta ST.

Whilst Pritchard, who has not contested a rally in nearly ten years, admits that he is slightly older than his rivals he hopes that the experiences learned in the competitive Skoda Trophy in 1995 will still hold some value when he contests this weekends Cockermouth based event.

To ensure that he has the best tools for the job, Pritchard has purchased the ex-Matt Edwards Fiesta and with backing and support from Copart Finder, KC Auto, U Pull It and Zen Signs, he intends to contest the full MSA British Rally Championship.

“I have really missed rallying and recently I've had a great desire to get back out in the forests and in 2010 this dream is becoming a reality!” he said. “I enjoyed a lot of success back in the day and am not sure how competitive I'll be but I guess we will know by the end of Saturday.

“None of this would have been possible without the support of a number of people and organisations and to them all I am very grateful! My wife and our four children will also be attending a number of the events and so it will be great to have their support.”

The Malcolm Wilson Rally is based in the town of Cockermouth and features a selection of stages in the surrounding forests of Greystokes, Grizedale, Comb and Hobcarton. The first car departs the ceremonial start at 9am and is due back at the champagne finish at around 3:30pm on Saturday afternoon.
