Following a tough start to the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, Revolution Wheels Rally Team leader Rob Swann is hoping that a pre-Ulster Rally test will hold the key to unlocking the potential of his new Subaru N14.
Swann, who is co-driven by Welshman Darren Garrod, will conduct a full day test with both Prodrive engineers and Geoff Jones Motorsport mechanics in attendance as the team aims to gain a better understanding of the new car.
"The championship is now entering the second half and with this test coming up it has given us confidence," said team boss Warren McKiernan. "It is reassuring to know that Prodrive are watching our progress, and that is thanks to our strong relationship with Geoff Jones Motorsport."
Swann will be joined on the fourth round in the BRC by James Wozencroft, who in contrast to his team-mate has had a great year to date and is currently third overall in the BRC standings.
Wozencroft will drive the #2 Revolution Wheels Rally Team entry as he did on the Manx last month.
"Rob and James have both had good runs here in the past," added McKiernan. "Let's hope we can come away with two strong finishes next weekend."
Karl Simmons meanwhile, who was entered in the second car on the Pirelli and Jim Clark, will miss this round - just like he had to sit out the Rally Isle of Man - due to minor surgery on his knee. He is however, hoping to be fit for the International Rally Yorkshire at the end of September.
