Andrew Hockridge, who is currently leading the highly competitive Citroen C2R2 Cup in his first year in the series, is aiming to consolidate his position when the pocket rocket pilot heads across to Ulster for the fourth round of the 2008 championship this weekend.
Hockridge, who is co-driven by Englishman Rich Mills, backed up a dominant win on the opening round with a fine drive to second in class last time out, just over a week after a massive crash in testing threatened his appearance on the Isle of Man.
Sterling work from Geoff Jones Motorsport saw the GRH Foods-backed Citroen run faultlessly throughout the three-day event and although the wet and tricky conditions were new to the Welshman he hardly put a foot wrong.
These two strong results have elevated the Gino's Pizza Cheese supported star to the top of the leaderboard ahead of his first visit to the two-day Armagh based round.
"I am really enjoying my season so far. We've had a couple of up's and downs but I'm getting to grips with the car and understanding more about its unique characteristics every day," he noted.
"The Ulster International Rally is going to be another all new experience for me but I have competed in Ireland before. I love the people and I am really looking forward to the event."
