Pinder hopeful of good showing in Yorkshire.

Luke Pinder is hoping for better luck on his home event this coming weekend - the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire, the latest round in the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship.

Despite a problematic season though, Pinder, in his RDL-backed Ford Puma had led both the R2 class championship and the British Junior Championship all year, until a driveshaft problem eliminated him from last month's Ulster Rally.

Now with nothing to lose Pinder and co-driver Kim Baker will be making every effort to impress the judges for the Pirelli Star Driver Award.

"We have had problems on every rally so far this year and I am hoping for better luck on home ground," he confirmed. "I am just going to try and relax and just go for the best result on the day. I love the Yorkshire forests. Langdale is my all time favourite stage.

"We have performed very well here before and I am hopeful that we can put our mechanical problems behind us now and put in a performance that we can be really proud of."

Pinder meanwhile has got a boost in the build up to the event having acquired additional support from Leeds-based City Transport and Storage Limited and Cumbrian specialist 'Extreme Cleaning' company, Hillfield Environmental Services Limited. This will supplement the support from title sponsor RDL (Retirement Developments Limited).
