Jason Pritchard will make his four-wheel drive debut when he tackles the forthcoming Oswestry-based Bulldog Clubman's Rally at the helm of a North Road Garage-backed Subaru Impreza N11.
The 20-year-old, who is one of the front runners in the highly competitive Citroen C2R2 Cup, has been rallying front wheel drive machinery for the past two years. But he recently acquired the ex-Richard Cathcart Subaru Impreza in order to gain four wheel drive experience as he examines all of his options for the future.
Furthermore with the Bulldog Rally moving dates and being absorbed into the MSA British Rally Championship for 2009, the event this weekend presents Pritchard with the perfect opportunity to have a look at the stages and experience 'all wheel drive' for the first time.
"I'm really excited about this weekend," said the British Rally Elite member. "I've never rallied a four-wheel drive rally car before but I am planning a short test with Geoff Jones ahead of the rally.
"Also George Gwynn, my co-driver, has quite a lot of experience in these machines and so I'll be calling upon his experience this weekend. We are not going to be looking at our times at all this weekend, as we just want to gain as much experience as possible."
