Pirelli to run as triple header.

Cumbrian rally fans are in for a treat in April with the news that the Pirelli National Rally will be made of three events rolled into one.

The Pirelli MSA National Gravel Championship has been added to the event and will run alongside the Tesco 99 Octane British Rally Championship and the Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship – which will return for a second year.

The new addition is run by the well established ANCRO organisation and for the rally organisers, Cumberland Sporting Car Club, it is very much a return to their roots for they were long time members of ANCRO until their event was promoted to the British Championship in 1991. A spokesman for the rally organisers said,

“We are absolutely delighted to have ANCRO and the Pirelli MSA Gravel Rally Championship coming to Carlisle,” an event spokesman said. “It will give us the opportunity to meet many old friends and to open our event to a much wider category of competitors”

The Pirelli National Rally will feature a compact route with it's 70 plus stage miles packed into 8 stages in the Wark Forest complex, with scrutineering, start and finish and service facilities all located at Carlisle Racecourse.
