Tom Walster has been excluded from the Wales Rally GB even before the three-day Cardiff-based event got underway.
The 22-year-old and co-driver David Roberts were disqualified on Thursday by the Stewards of the Meeting just hours before the ceremonial start in the Welsh capital.
"Walster committed an infringement on Tuesday afternoon during the competitors' scheduled reconnaissance which allowed the entire 80-plus entry to drive normal road cars through the special stages at slow speed," explained a statement to the press.
"But Walster arrived 20 minutes late at the Myherin forest section due to adverse weather conditions and then ignored officials at the start of the special stage who instructed him not to drive through the forest. The Clerk of the Course had already extended the closing time."
The Pirelli ANCRO Challenge champion had been due to drive a Ford Fiesta on his second Rally GB appearance.
