Teenager James Watkins will team up with Geoff Mayes on the forthcoming over subscribed Pembrey Christmas Stages, an event which will mark only Watkins' seventh ever rally.
The pair will contest the rally onboard Watkins' Makefast UK backed Skoda Favorit.
Watkins, a sales assistant at Rally Marketing, began rallying as soon as he was old enough and upgraded to his current factory built Skoda earlier this year.
Whilst the car may have finished inside the top 60 on the Lombard RAC of 1993, its recent reliability has been a bit of an issue, but following a visit to renowned preparation company Geoff Jones Motorsport, Watkins is hoping for a stress free and enjoyable run on the last rally of the year.
"We haven't had the best of luck so far in 2008 but the car has been down to Geoff Jones Motorsport for some attention and hopefully we've sorted the gremlins out," he said. "I'm really looking forward to the Pembrey Christmas Stages, its a great entry and we are just aiming to have a bit of fun and see what our pace is like."
The West Wales Rally Spares Pembrey Christmas Stages takes place on Sunday December 28 at Pembrey Race Circuit. With the entry list already full spectators are guaranteed an action packed day as the competitors tackle 50 competitive miles broken into five individual stages.
