Walker optimistic ahead of season finale

James Walker is keen to end a difficult sophomore World Series by Renault season on a high as he prepares for the final round of the year in Barcelona.

After winning a race in his debut season, Walker came into 2008 as an outside title hope but has struggled with his consistency driving the Fortec Motorsport machine. Currently, he is 16th in the overall standings with a best result of seventh.

Nonetheless, Walker is determined to go out on a high and match the top ten result he managed at the Spanish circuit last season.

“I can't believe that the season has nearly come to an end already,” said James. “Barcelona is always a great place to have the last race, as it has a great end-of-season atmosphere. The team and I are concentrating more than ever to go out on a high. The pressure is still as high as at all the previous rounds so we'll be pushing for results until the very end.”
