“I got a good start, but I really had to push to contain Baguette,” said Martinez. “The middle of the race was quieter, but then I had to push to the limit again at the end with Fairuz Fauzy coming back at me. It's a good result for the Championship standings.”
“My start was nothing special. It took me a few laps to get the better of Daniil Move,” added Fauzy. “Then the battle with Bertrand Baguette was really fun, very fair. I tried everything I knew at the end, but Marcos Martinez did the business. This podium is very good for all the team.”
Turvey meanwhile took the final spot on the podium, followed by Walker, Hartley and Alguersuari. Pic and Baguette rounded out the top eight.
“For my first season in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, I'm happy to be on the podium a second time, and being at Silverstone is a bonus,” Turvey stated.
“As always, we were very well prepared for the race. Now we just need to do as well tomorrow!”
