8 March 2013

This year's North West 200 international road races have been given the HD treatment by the BBC.

The famous race in Northern Ireland, now in its 84th year, takes place on Saturday, May 18.

A star-studded line-up of riders including the Honda TT Legends team of John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop and Michael Rutter, plus Tyco Suzuki's Guy Martin, Stuart Easton on the Mar-Train Yamaha, Milwaukee Yamaha duo William Dunlop and Conor Cummins, Cameron Donald (Wilson Craig Honda), Bruce Anstey (Padgetts Honda) and Gearlink Kawasaki's Alastair Seeley will do battle at speeds in excess of 200mph.

BBC Northern Ireland HD will screen two one-hour highlights programmes produced by Greenlight TV capturing all the action.

Shane Glynn, Editor BBC Sport NI, said: “For the first time this year we'll be bringing fans all the thrills and action from the North West 200 in stunning HD.

“We'll have super slo-mo cameras, kerb cams, and on boards to capture the best coverage of the event for our audience.”
