Anstey enters Classic TT on Manx Norton
Bruce Anstey has been added to the stellar cast set to compete in the inaugural Classic TT races in August.

Anstey, who has ten TT victories under his belt on the Snaefell Mountain circuit, has teamed up with world-renowned classic racing bike builder Ken McIntosh, forming a New Zealand partnership for the 500cc Classic race.

The 42-year-old will ride the McIntosh Manx Norton, which boasts an incredible pedigree.

Anstey has taken over the ride from Cameron Donald, who tasted victory on the machine at the New Zealand Classic TT and at Phillip Island in January.

Grand Prix legend Kevin Schwantz has also ridden the bike to victory in the past in New Zealand.

Anstey complements a superb line-up of current TT riders set to lock horns in the 500cc Classic race, including Donald, John McGuinness, William Dunlop, James Hillier, Gary Johnson, Guy Martin, Olie Linsdell, Chris Palmer and Roy Richardson.

Team owner McIntosh said: “When I heard about the plans for the new Classic TT I felt that we had to be a part of it, and with Cameron Donald already committed to ride another bike at the event, the suggestion came from Cameron himself that I couldn't get anyone better than Bruce Anstey to take over the reins.

“It's a great honour for me to have New Zealand's most successful TT rider ever on our New Zealand-built bike and we will be looking for a result right from the off.”

TT and Motorsport Development Manager Paul Phillips hailed the news as a 'massive boost' for the inaugural Classic TT.

“The news that Bruce Anstey will compete in the Classic TT is a massive boost for the event,” he said.

“Bruce is an all-time TT great, who is still winning races and breaking lap records and he is a favourite with the fans.

“Equally as exciting is the news that Ken McIntosh is supporting the event with his world-renowned machines.”
