TT Stars Rise in Rankings
18 June 2009
TT winners and stars have made their presence felt in the Duke Road Race Rankings after the TT2009 results have been included in the calculations.
Whilst early leader, Ryan Farquhar remains firmly at the top of the table, fellow Ulsterman Michael Dunlop moves into second position after his debut win in the second Supersport TT.
Steve Plater's excellent results which included his maiden Senior TT win sees the HM Plant Honda rider advance 18 places to third in the table.
However, his team-mate John McGuinness, who took the Superbike TT honours, climbs 24 rungs into 12th, just behind Hydrex Honda star Guy Martin in 11th, an upwards move of 15 positions.
Two Metre Man, Conor Cummins, after two podiums during the week on the McAdoo Kawasaki machines slots into 13th an improvement of 14 places.
Previous Duke Ranking's winner Ian Lougher re-enters the 'top 50' in seventh place.
Others rejoining the fray are Ian Hutchinson (9th), Gary Johnson (21st) and Andrew Neill (36th).
The action moves over to Northern Ireland for the ninth round at the Bush National Road Races on Saturday 20th June, before moving to Eire for the following two events, the Athea National Road Races on 28th June, and the well established Skerries Road Races on 4th July.
