If they extended the photo down a bit, you would see that Ian's left leg is in a huge cage and is looking somewhat painful, I believe he has been to hell and back so it's great to see that Shaun Muir has sufficient faith in an high quality injured rider to sign a 2 year deal. Hutchy is a pretty rapid short circuit rider, but I think he has already become somewhat legenday for his TT achievements. Knowing that he's got a good deal in the bag will hopefully help Hutchy get his mojo back.

That's a big challenge for Hutchy to undertake. Off the top of my head I can't think of a single major victory on the roads by the crossplane R1, nevermind the rehabilitation he's going through after that horror smash at Silverstone in typhoon conditions...

Anyway, best of luck to the Bingley bullet!

You'd have thought Honda would have rewarded Hutchy for last years success, maybe they don't think he's fit. He's certainly more of a TT Legend (by a long way!) than Keith Amor.

The only big Yamaha win I can think of was one of the Dunlops winning a SuperSport TT a couple of years ago, which obviously wasn't on the R1.

@David Kime - I believe his contract is for 2 years British Supersport and Roads with a possible option to BSB if all goes well. He was doing very well in a competitive BSS before his acccident, so his circuit career could start here.

@cruachan - who is Keith Amor's best mate? Jonathan Rea. Need we say more? Not that KA's not a good rider, he is, but it is not talent that gets you places, it money and who you now. Always has been e.g. Sheene and Parrish.

The Legends team has one of the biggest TT Legend,s of them all on it in McG.
As for Honda I bet Amor didn,t demand the sort of money that Hutchy would want.As a small point though,Amor was the last man to beat Hutchy,NW200 Superstock race 2010,before his run of 9 international and the first to do it after that at the UGP...not bad for a guy in a privateer team.

Not disputing Amor's ability, I like him as a rider and I reckon he's up there with Guy Martin as the best current roads men not to have won a TT. I don't think you can really be a TT legend without winning one though.

Moving on from that though, most people said last year the R1 lacked top end power, so it might struggle, particularly at the NW200 and the Ulster.
