Well done McPint, a legend in every possible sense.

I have a feeling from the way he was talking earlier in the week that he might walk away from it now. If he does, it's a retirement he'll have very well earned.

Well done John Mac brilliant performance what a bloke top racer. Lot of total and utter ****e being talked about Guy Martin from those on here who I dare bet have never raced any road circuit (which I have)It takes a win to get into the groove and get the monkey off your back. For those who dont realise how it works, you have to be smoother than a porn stars bits !!Go slower to go faster, study footage of John Mc through the lariest corners and see how smooth he is in comparison to those further down the order. You cant just turn up ride round like a **** till you crash to find the limits like short circuits. Please dont pull riders to bits unless you (A) know what you are talking about or(B) beaten them on track/road .

yeah Guy didnt win but he podiumed 4 times out of 5 and was denied a 5th by a break down. Finishing 7 secs behind Mcguiness is no shabby achievment. I think he has shown he does have the mentalilty to win one , one day. As for Mcguiness , pure class round the Island .

@ 46 well ive done road races ,top level, but i agree with other poster, and he s not taking any one apart by saying guy aint gonna win a tt anytime soon, when hutchy cummins etc,and dunlop progresses on the kwaka, johnstones arrival,it wont get any easier, check sector times,it was only 7 seconds because mc stout rolled it off,it could have been twenty plus easily, mcstout is the class act in the tt

I qatched the sector times all race , guy led firt 3 laps and last lap did a 130.8 mph am not sure if thats a record or not but J.mc's biggest lead wasnt over 10secs all race and doubt if he slowed down coz he did 130.2 mph on last lap ! Personally i think Guy is a true legend and one of the best even if he dosnt win one which unfortunatley I think he is just destined never to do. It's wrong to question his mentality tho of a guy thats had 12 podiums and can lap the course as fast as him , if he dont ever win one then he's the best ever rider not too !

That was a classic Senior, much like '07 really.

McPint is and always has been the real deal but Guy proved his metal today, more than any other race since he was on the SMR Honda.

However, jd46 you should check your facts because the lead did go well over 10 seconds and John did run his last lap from the boards but it doesnt take away from Guys achievments. Remember, whilst they can build bikes to win on the short circuits and the North West (which their own rider doesnt consider a real road race), TAS seem to have lost the art of building bikes that can do well at the TT, often over-speccing them - so Guy did well this week.
