Guy Martin says he gave 'as much as he could give' after just missing out on a maiden Isle of Man TT victory.

He has no chance of wining next year if Hutchison is back and co to full fitness... this was his big chance and a failure, even if he has got on the podium a few times.
He is only with Relentless because of his undoubted commercialism for the sponsors and crowds favourite instead of Cameron Donald and Bruce Anstey.

I still wish him well, as with all the other brave souls that take part in Road racing.

I have been at the TT for the full two weeks marshalling. When i was there i said that no matter how successful Guy would be,the A55e5 on here would distroy him.Why cant you get it that Guy IS just a bloke who happens to be gifted and happens to be able to ride a bike fast.I can assure that one meeting with this bloke would change any preconceptions you may have.

Annual consistency is what's really called for. Look at the past TT winners and how long they've been with the same team or same bikes over the years.
.
McGuiness has been on Honda's for what seems a life-time and his wins illustrate that. Most TT winners date bak with at least 2 seasons on the same bike/team.
.
Hutchy would have struggled this year regardless of fitness. The change to a Yammy and little testing would have contributed.
.
Guy needs to do the same as McGuiness and stick with the same team for a few years. Hopefully this'll be the case with Relentless, and it's sounding likely with some future BSB outings.

Thought Guy rode extremely well at the Isle Of Man myself, particularly in last Friday's Senior TT Superbike race.Seriously doubt that some of the rubbish certain ill informed idiots post on forums such as this will bother him too much TBH,that is if he bothers to read them at all.A few more BSB appearances on the bike would seem to be good plan to me and even with Hutchy (hopefully) back to 100% next year I do honestly believe Guy can win races at the TT.Don't really get why people feel the need to post some of this negative rubbish myself?

Its frustrating cheering for Guy,he seems to have the pace early on, but cannot carry this on throughout the race. Next year with Connor Cummins and Hutchy back I fear he'll not even be picking up the podiums, never mind wins. I hope i'm wrong, but looking at him in bsb, its clear he hasnt got the pure speed of most riders, but likable none the less...

Mc Ginley is a TT God no doubt but the Louth Honda team are the best in the paddock.Put Guy Martin on the louth Honda, not the Padgetts one or the Wilson craig bike but the HM Plant Honda and he would win.Guy is a better rider than Keith Amor who managed to get on the rostrum carrying an a injury.Brave riding all week from Keith but the point i am making is that the Louth honda is far superior than any other bike on the TT grid and that is where you need to be at to win a Superbike or Senior TT.
